Two people have been confirmed dead after a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) helicopter crashed in a hill in Gomba district.

The UPDF Spokesperson, Brigadier General, Richard Kalemire, says the deceased were two crew members aboard around midday today when the jet Ranger AF302 crashed.

He says investigations into the cause of the crash have commenced and extends condolences to the family members and entire UPDF fraternity.

According to the eye witnesses Samuel Ssettaala who is also the area district councilor, says that the chopper crashed on top of Ndeese hill at Bulo Village in Butambala, Gomba district and the deceased are a man and a woman believed to have been dressed in army attires.

This comes in two days after a Basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his 13 year old daughter together with other seven people died in a helicopter crash in the hills of Calabasas, California on Sunday.
