The Chief Justice Bart Katureebe has challenged judges to embrace themselves with the electronic system for quick and efficient way of case management.

In his address to his colleagues at Mestil Hotel where the 22nd annual Judges’ conference is ongoing under a theme discharging the mandate of the judiciary towards a modern, professional and effective judiciary, Katureebe said E- system will fasten justice.

This was after one Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi noting that such technology couldn’t be applicable in Uganda because of unreliable network.

However, Katureebe said there is nothing that can’t be applicable if judges have a positive mind because such technologies have improved the judicial system in countries like Malaysia, Lesotho, and Rwanda and why not in Uganda.

Judges agreed to task the information and communication technological committee for basic training to use modern technologies to dispose of cases quickly.
