The opposition Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has deferred from the government plans to force uniform fees structures in Private schools saying it’s not fair.

Recently, the government announced a move to force all private schools to have uniform fee structures to allow Ugandan children access education.

While addressing the journalists at the party headquarters Uganda house in Kampala, the UPC Spokesperson Sharon Oyat Arach said the government has failed to subsidize taxes on school requirements yet private Schools invest a lot to provide the required quality of service for learners in their institutions of learning.

Sharon adds that unless the government comes out to support the private schools, it is undesirable for such a ruthless move to be considered which is destined to kill the education standards in Uganda.

Meanwhile, Arach has congratulated the Primary Seven candidates who performed well in the last PLE results and encouraged parents to sacrifice and ensure the children are enrolled to the next academic level
