Members of Parliament representing workers have proposed a forensic audit of the National Social Security Fund- NSSF by an International auditing firm to ascertain the safety of workers money and the worthiness of the funds, investments.

The proposal was raised by one of the MPs Arinaitwe Rwakajara while appearing before the recently set select committee chaired by the Mbarara City South MP Mwine Mpaka to investigate the rows in the fund.

Rwakajara says the actual cash in terms of income earned and saved or invested by the NSSF board daily is not known.

He further said that even the profits made by the fund are not well known to the savers besides people receiving annual interests.

Workers MPs have also questioned the profitability of NSSF investments, noting the recent housing estate in Lubowa saying the houses are too expensive for the savers.

Rwakajara said that it was not worthy for NSSF management to invest in a house of over a billion on a plot of 50 decimals.

Among other Workers MPs who attended the committee meeting were Arinaitwe Rwakajara, Margret Rwabushaija, Abdul Byakatonda, and Agnes Kunihira.
