The opposition Uganda People’s Congress-UPC party has reiterated the call for an immediate intervention in Uganda’s education for the betterment of the young generation’s future in Uganda.

The Uganda National Examinations Board-UNEB released the 2023 PLE results last week but over 80,000 pupils failed the exams more so in Government schools.

While addressing journalists at the UPC headquarters in Kampala, Faizo Muzeyi, the Head of Communications at the party says Government should focus more on improving the quality of education in its schools because they are lagging behind compared to the private schools, and not every Ugandan can afford to take their child to a private school.

He has disclosed that currently in Uganda, the focus is on access to education but not quality education hence calling for this issue to be worked on as soon as possible to save Uganda’s next generation.

Muzeyi however advised the Government to also improve the salaries of teachers to give them morale to teach Uganda’s children well.
