The Opposition Uganda Peoples’ Congress (UPC) party has advised the Ugandan government to utilize the Non-Allied Movement (NAM) and G-77plus China summits to solve issues that have persistently affected African countries.

Faizo Muzeyi, the UPC Head of Media and Communications while speaking to the media at party headquarters in Kampala today highlighted Africa’s challenges that he believes need serious interventions like debts, poverty, unemployment and climate change, saying they deprive the economy of the continent.

Muzeyi further challenged politicians that have labeled these summits as wastes of time, saying that they are a great opportunity for Africa to come up with stringent strategies to lift the continent to another level.

Early this week, the president of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party Robert Kyagulanyialias Bobi Wine criticized the government for demolishing people’s buildings on roads that are used as the country hosts the NAM summit.
