The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has disclosed a total of 25 examination malpractice cases registered in the recently concluded Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Primary Leaving Examination (PLE).

Both UCE and PLE exams ended last week in all centers and currently the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) papers are ongoing.

Jennifer Kalule Musamba, the UNEB Principal Public Relations says that among the cases reported to Police, 10 of them were in respect of UCE while 15 were for PLE.

She says that some of the suspects are out on police bond as investigations continue while others have appeared in court and culprits remanded to prison including the Director Kisugu High School in Makindye, Celestine Kasolo, the Director His Grace Primary School Kananya in Kawempe division, the scouts and invigilators among others.

However, Kalule emphasizes that the board didn’t register any case of leakage in both UCE and PLE exposing some candidates to prior knowledge of any of the examination papers though there were other forms of malpractice ranging from impersonation, external assistance to candidates among others.
