Police are still hunting for the driver linked to the accident that left people dead during the Kyabazinga’s royal wedding over the weekend.

 

The somber incident unfolded during the Kyabazinga’s journey from Bdhumbula in Kamuli to Bugembe in Jinja where the Spectators eager to catch a glimpse of the procession found themselves in harm’s way.

 

The unfortunate accident happened at Nawantumbi, situated 20km from Kamuli, when a Super Custom vehicle, bearing registration number UAZ 742U which was following the Kyabazinga‘s royal wedding convoy, lost control and collided with the awaiting crowd.

 

Michael Kananura the Traffic Police Spokesperson says that nine victims have been confirmed dead while three still undergoing treatment after sustaining injuries.

 

However, Kananura has disclosed that the whole of last week registered a total of 390 cases involving 371 victims of whom 73 died and 298 sustained injuries across the country.
