The Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres has called for equal treatment of refugees and opposed all agreements that many compromise their rights.

His comments come a time when the then prime minister of the united kingdom Boris Johnson in 2022 announced that migrants who met strict asylum criteria would be flown to Rwanda.

Currently, the United Kingdom has published the Safety of Rwanda Bill aimed at enabling the Government’s flagship of Rwanda policy to go ahead despite the United Kingdom’s top court finding it unlawful.

He applauded Uganda for hosting over 1.5 million refugees and this is a good gesture to other countries that they should depict.
