The body of the fallen Uganda Human Rights Commission Chairman, Med Kaggwa will be laid to rest tomorrow Thursday November 21st 2019 at his ancestral home in Mpami in Mawokota ,Mpigi district.

This has been confirmed by the former Electoral Commission Chairperson, Eng. Badru Kiggundu, who is part of the deceased’s family.

Kaggwa who has been the chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC), died this morning on his way to the office in the car around 7.30 am near Mulago round about where a good Samaritan sow him collapsing and helped to rush him to Case Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A postmortem report later indicated that Kaggwa 64, had a history of hypertension, something Eng. Kiggundu confirmed. Kiggundu remembers Kaggwa as a dedicated worker who served his country diligently.

He has survived with a widow and five children.

The opposition Uganda people’s Congress (UPC) through the party national chairman Lawrence Okae have sent condolences to the family, friends and the country for losing such an industrious person at a time when the country is yearning for observance of human rights and freedom ahead of the 2021 general elections.
