The Constitutional Court has adjourned the matter in which the former Ruhaama County aspirant Adens Ntale Rutaro wants Court to declare People Power and People’s Government pressure groups illegal.

This was after the defense lawyer from Owesigire-Muhumuza and company advocates failed to follow the proper procedure to serve the Attorney General who is one of the respondents which made the Attorney general not to appear in court today.

This prompted the Court Registrar Nkonge Agnes to adjourn the matter to the 9th/12/2019 to allow the Attorney General file his response regarding the matter.

In his petition, Rutaro sued Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, Joel Senyonyi and Dr. Kiiza Besigye who are currently running People Power and People’s Government respectively which are unregistered political organizations yet they are carrying out mobilization as a political parties which is a preserve of a registered political party per the constitutional.

The Attorney General in this case is sued for allegedly failing to halt the activities of People Power and the People’s Government.

Now Rutaro wants court to halt the said organizations because they are illegal.
