The Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board- UBTEB is seeking 16bn shillings in the next financial year 2023/2024 for the construction of their new assessment center in Kyambogo.

 

This was revealed by the UBTEB Executive Secretary Onesmus Oyesige while presenting their budget framework paper before the Parliamentary Education Committee chaired by the vice chairperson also Kibale county MP Casbert Abigaba saying they are spending a lot of resources on renting.

He says that the construction of the assessment center requires 25bn and only 9bn has been allocated thus pleading for an additional 16bn in the next financial year.

Oyesigye also told the committee that they need 3.6 billion shillings to procure 200 containers which will act as stores during the time of examinations and those containers will be placed in different police stations in different regions

He further raised the concern of their budget cut from 40 billion to 30 billion saying it is going to affect some of their operations.
