Lawyers representing TikToker Ibrahim Musana a.k.a Pressure 24/7 have promised to ask for dismissal of this case if the State is not done with their investigations by the next adjournment date.

Musana who is facing charges of Hate Speech has appeared before Buganda Road Court Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi to be informed on the progress of investigations into his case.

The last time he appeared in court, the State prayed for two weeks’ adjournment so they could conclude their investigations but when the matter resumed again, Prosecution was not present in court but represented by a different State Attorney who prayed for an adjournment to conclude their investigations in this matter.

One of Musana’s lawyers; Gideon Masamba contends that if the State doesn’t show its readiness on that date, they will ask the Magistrate to dismiss the case adding that it is against the principles of natural justice and against the provisions of the constitution for a fair, free and speedy trial.

He adds that they cannot have their client for all these months in custody under claims by the state of still doing investigations.

This matter has been fixed on April 29th, 2024 for mention.

Prosecution states that between August 2023 and February 2024 in areas of Kampala, while using a computer via his TikTok account, Pressure 24/7 shared information which is likely to degrade or demean and promote hostility against four leaders including; the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, President Yoweri Museveni, Speaker of Parliament Anita Among and State Minister for ICT Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo.
