The Mwanga II Magistrate’s Court has further remanded five people over the murder of Eng. Daniel Bbosa, the former head of the Ndiga clan.
They are; Noah Lujja, a resident of Kabanga village, Mpigi Town Council in Mpigi, Harriet Nakiguli, a resident of Nkere Corner Zone, Kawempe Division in Kampala, Joseph Nakabaale, a carpenter residing in Gala, Mpigi Town Council, Ezra Mayanja, a carpenter residing in Kiganda Zone, Kawempe and Milly Naluwenda, a Secretary to the Kisekwa Cultural Court of Buganda, residing in Kitunzi Zone 7, Rubaga Division, Kampala.
On Thursday, the suspects appeared before the Senior Principal Grade One Magistrate Adams Byarugaba to be informed on the progress of investigations into the charges.
The Prosecution alleges that the suspects and others still at large on February 25th, 2024 at Kikandwa-Lungujja, Rubaga Division in Kampala with malice aforethought unlawfully caused the death of Eng. Daniel Bbosa.
However, State Attorney Caroline Mpumwire informed the court that the investigations were incomplete and asked for an adjournment.
As a result, the Magistrate has further remanded the suspects until May 30th, 2024.
After Bossa was shot, residents pursued the two assailants who were riding on a motorcycle until they caught up with them and killed one on the spot.
Lujja sustained injuries although he was later rescued by police and admitted to Mulago Hospital to receive treatment as he waited formal charging before the court.
They were sent back to prison as investigators intensified the hunt for prime suspect Tabula Lujja Bbosa to whom a 20 million shillings bounty has since been placed.
Before Bbosa’s death, there had been a longstanding dispute within the kingdom, dating back over 480 years, leading to the Buganda Cultural Court, known as “Kkooti ya Kisekwa”, directing Bbosa to step down from leadership due to lineage discrepancies among the clan’s true descendants.
