Tayebwa slams Kasese Municipal Council for attempting to pass by-laws recognizing homosexuality

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has summoned the Minister of Local Government to appear before parliament over attempts by the Kasese Municipal Council to enact malicious bylaws that are promoting same sex vices.

This has been during the Speaker’s communication in parliament where he said that the public has been bombarding him with messages of concern about Homosexuality from where he even received the information about the By-Law passed by Kasese Municipal Council.

He said that the attempt by Kasese Municipal Council to back homosexuality contravenes national laws and that it must be stopped.

Tayebwa further informed parliament that he had been briefed that this illegal bylaw had allegedly been facilitated by a non-government organization under the disguise of promoting accessibility to fee health services and medicines.

It’s from this that Tayebwa warned all Local governments to desist from passing By-Laws that are contravening the constitution of the country.

Tayebwa also directed the Ministry of Internal Affairs to investigate the accused NGO and provide a report to parliament urgently.
