The Inspectorate of Government (IG) has applauded whistleblowers that exposed the rot and corruption at Entebbe International Airport.

 

Last week, the Aviation police arrested an aviation security staff who was filmed by a vigilant Ugandan at Entebbe International Airport seemingly negotiating with a passenger for Shs400, 000/=  bribe to facilitate their travel, authorities, the video went viral and it has weekend up different entities fighting corruption to come out.

 

While addressing press at her office in Kampala on Wednesday, IGG Betty Olive Namisango Kamya said that fighting corruption to zero in Uganda needs everyone’s effort to commit to zero tolerance to corruption, not only at Entebbe airport, but report corruption on roads, Ministry of lands, police, hospitals among others.

 

Namisango adds that over the years the IG has investigated 21 cases relating to Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) and a huge amount of money has been recovered from fraudulent procurement under the systematic intervention to fight corruption in Uganda.

 

She says that they have embarked on serious investigation over the Entebbe Airport saga promising that any person involved will be brought to book

 

Meanwhile, Kamya has revealed that OG has started investigating the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) such that people get trust in the entire fund to start saving.
