Taxi operators have called upon The Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs Beti Olive Namisango Kamya to help them organize their election to ease the operations of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) including the collection of revenue from the taxi industry.

In an interview, the Uganda Transporters Development Agency (UTRADA) Chairperson Mustapha Mayambala says that taxi drivers default revenues due to disorganizations and controversies among taxi operators and KCCA.

Mayambala attributes all problems in the taxi industry to the absence of a proper taxi leadership that he wishes to be solved in 2019.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) attempted to hold elections some years ago but it collapsed due to accusations amongst themselves and alleged infiltrators.
