The Ministry of Health has signed scholarship agreements worth UGX 7.94bn with over 500 students from 28 training institutions across the country to be trained in health related matters.

The scholarships are intended to improve and impart skills in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health Services.

The courses include but are not limited to: Masters in: Anesthesia, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, General Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Internal Medicine, and Laboratory Science and Bio Medical Engineering.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of health Dr. Diana Atwine believes that through such a project, will help the country have enough and quality health professionals.

The total number of those given scholarships for the same program has reached 760 including the 184 students who were enrolled last year.
