Speaker Anita orders Ministers to stop offering items to opponents of sitting MPs

The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has directed Ministers to stop offering items to opponents of sitting MPs to distribute in their constituencies.

She further emphasized this by also warning Ministers to stop delivering support to constituencies without informing the area MPs.

While delivering her communication while opening today’s plenary session, the Speaker said that it’s a sign of disrespect for political leaders to hold an event in someone’s jurisdiction without notifying the area representative.

Among justified her directive saying she had received a lot of complaints from different MPs about Ministers giving items to their opponents to deliver them to the electorate which she says should be stopped.
