The Bishop of Masaka Diocese Rt. Rev. Serevrus Jjumba has advised the government to concentrate on the “Heart” as it strives to improve on the education system in country.

Bishop Jjumba says once the country’s education system gives priority to the three areas; Faith, Discipline and Hard work it will build a holistic person who is ready to support his country.

He explained that Masaka Catholic Diocese has embarked on supporting its schools to be centers of evangelization to help in nurturing a generation with a “Heart” for the country and for all.

They believe with this idea the country will have graduates who are self reliant, committed and ready to transform the country unlike many of those who are currently passed out of the institutions of learning who are just liabilities to the country.

This was contained in his speech read for him by the Diocesan Education Secretary Rev. Fr. Eria Tumwesigye at the grand opening of Hill View Mataga Primary School, in Butende Parish, Masaka City.

The Parish Priest of Butende Parish Fr. Timothy Ssemogerere applauded the director Mr. Fredrick Ssentongo Lugonvu a journalist by profession for having started such an investment to provide one of the needed services within his home area, adding that the Catholic Church closely looks at such institution to ensure that they stick to the accepted norms and values as emphasized by the Church and the Country.

Pokino Jude Muleke used the same forum to encourage parents to save all they can to educate their children for them to fit in the modern world.
