Parliament has tasked the Education Ministry to explain the incident in which primary teachers in Nakaseke district were subjected to sitting Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) Mock Papers.

This was after the Nakaseke South Allan Mayanja Ssebunya raised the matter on the floor of parliament accusing the LC5 Chairperson for Nakaseke district Ignatius Koomu for subjecting all primary teachers from schools that performed poorly in the last year’s PLE exams.

Ssebunya now demands that the Ministry of Education should explain to the country on whether this practice is a new policy or an isolated action by Koomu in Nakaseke district.

In response the State Minister in Charge of Higher Education John Chrysostom Muyingo noted that the Ministry has already dispatched a team to Nakaseke to investigate the matter and after a report will be presented to Parliament.

However, the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among ruled that the Ministry of Education first finds out the truth of the matter and takes action against the accused person for mocking and embarrassing teachers before an official report is presented to parliament.
