Makindye chief magistrate’s court has set another date of 10th / October/2022 for further mention of the   case in which Charles Olim alias sipapa and his wife ShamirahNakiyimba are   on six  charges of aggravated robbery which includes that of  1.6 billion shillings which occurred at the home of Jacob Arok, in Kawuku-Bunga.

When sipapa and his wife  Shamirah appeared before the Grade one Magistrate Esther Adikini, their lawyer Robert Rutaro from Elgon company and Advocates prayed to the court to grant bail to  the accused mother Shamirah  on grounds that she is breast feeding a baby of six months of which the  baby needs to be taken care of since it is too young.

Rutaro adds that court should exercise its jurisdiction and grant the accused person a temporary bail to be able to get treatment because she was operated when giving birth; the scar is still fresh which needs serious and immediate treatment.

The state prosecutor in this case Hope Tukundane has objected the defense lawyer’s request on grounds that this court has no jurisdiction to grant bail to the accused person due to their offenses being capital in nature.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Esther Adikini has emphasized the state’s group and asked the defense lawyer to try their prayer in High Court and asked the accused mother to get her baby and take care of it in prison.

The crime intelligence and CID detectives alleges that sipapa and his wife NakiyimbaShamira on 29th of September.2022 at BungakawukuMakindye division robbed one Arok Jacob 429000USD, two Mobile phones an iphone blue in color valued at 4,000 USD ,Samsung tv screen 75 inches valued at 4000 USD and immediately the said robbery used a substance on Arok which rendered him unconscious.
