Police officer shots himself accidently

Police have attributed the death of an officer attached to Kyanja Community Police to an accidental shooting during the normal security precaution on guns.

The incident happened yesterday evening at Kyanja Community police Post where security guards from Pyramid Security Company had gone to pick their guns as it’s the norm but, during the normal security precaution police officer identified as Collette Twesigye accidentally released a bullet which hit him on the head and died instantly.

Luke Oweyisigire, the Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police says that earlier, they had thought it was a suicide case but later after the investigations and examining the situation, it was established  Twesigye accidentally shot himself dead.

Meanwhile, Oweyisigire have noted that at Old Kampala Police Station, they have in detention six hard core criminals in connection to house breaking in areas of Masanafu-Lubya in Rubaga division following a house breaking-in case of one SwaibuKiboneka.

Relatedly, Police have made a breakthrough in the investigations in a case of murder of AmudaniMubiru whose dead body was recovered from a trench in Nsooba Zone Kawempe division.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson says that the breakthrough follows the arrest of one IsmaKyaligonza alias Ainebyona who was an employee to the deceased whom he confessed to have murdered after he failed to pay him 300,000Shs which he owed him.
