President Museveni urges Archbishop Ssemogerere to help gov’t in fighting poverty

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has congratulated the New Archbishop of Kampala Paul Ssemogerere with call for him to bear a dual responsibility of leading God’s flock to prosperity.

In his congratulatory message delivered by the Vice President Jessica Alupo, Museveni said Archbishop Ssemogerere has already exhibited able leadership as the Apostolic Administrator and now in the new capacity.

He said leadership is from God and for the religious leaders although evangelism stands out for the clerics they share the role of working to transform the society and let them out of evils among others corruption, domestic violence, poverty and indecency.

He said he is sure Archbishop Ssemogerere has the moral compass to direct the people to right path.

Museveni challenged some religious leaders who perceive it wrongly that they are not supposed to support the National Agenda government sets, reminding them that people of God must be built in body soul and mind.

President Museveni also donated a car Prado Land Cruiser that will be handed to the new Archbishop at an appropriate time.

Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among who also contributed to the organizing committee for the installation of the New Archbishop chaired by Papal Knight Emmanuel Katongole, welcomed the New Archbishop and promised always to come  to be saved humans are bound to make mistakes.
