The Pope Nuncio to Uganda Archbishop Luigi Bianco has congratulated Kampala Archdiocese for receiving a new Archbishop in the person of the Most Reverend Paul Ssemogerere.

In a special way he remembered the late Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga and Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala for their contribution in the development of the Archdiocese of Kampala.

He emphasized the need for collaboration between the Bishops and the Christians to foster the growth of God’s kingdom.

Archbishop Bianco said the Bishop’s serves is drawn from God through the Pope and a virtue of listening is highly required in the church.

He reminded the congregation of  the  synodality that was launched in October 2021 and will climax in October 2023 it is aimed at having all participate in the day today of the church.

Catholic Bishops from Africa have also extended congratulatory messages to the New Metropolitan Archbishop of Kampala promising to send prayers to guide Archbishop Ssemogerere in his new position.

The message from the Symposium of Episcopal conferences of Africa and Madagascar SECAM and the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences of East Africa AMECEA was read by the Chairman Uganda Episcopal Conference Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Antony Zziwa.
