The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has re-echoed the urgency to enforce traffic rules and regulations to save lives on the road.

In his eulogy at the last funeral mass for the late Fr. Lawrence Yawe Mudduse at Kiyinda Mityana Cathedral said vehicles in poor mechanical condition should not be on the road and observation of the road signs should be enforced.

He said it’s painful to keep losing lives not less than a 100 each week in road carnage due to recklessness.

Mayiga has described the late Fr. Mudduse for his Ability to interpret faith and scripture, the role in shaping cultural norms and values.

On behalf of the political heads the MP for Mityana Municipality Francis Butebi Zzake in his speech described Fr. Mudduse as a patriotic Ugandan and a human rights advocate.

He singled out land wrangles in Ttamu in Kiyinda Mityana where the late Fr. Mudduse reached to the extent of getting arrested and detained for helping the vulnerable community stay on their land.
