A Police officer has been dismissed from the force for allegedly raping a woman had gone to report a case of domestic violence.

 

The suspect only identified as Balikoowa at the rank of Inspector of Police (IP) has been the Officer in Charge (OC) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at Namisiita Police Post in Buyende district, Busoga North.

 

According to the Police, the a 34 year old house wife who is the victim, went to Namisiita Police Post to report a case of domestic violence against her husband a one Ronald Odere and she declined to go back at their home until when her man had been summoned at Police.

 

On that note, Detective Balikoowa used that opportunity at take the victim at Nakayiba Police barracks for a night sleep and from there he bought her drinks and later took her to his place where he raped her at two different intervals.

 

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson says the victim reported the case of rape to regional police which took action and arrested Balikoowa who later was arraigned before the police disciplinary court which charged and dismissed him from the force.

 

Enanga says that the now jobless Balikoowa is currently awaiting to be arraigned before the civil courts where he will be charged for aggravated rape.

 

Meanwhile, the territorial police in Aswa region and Pader district have in detention an Internal Security Organisation (ISO) officer identified as Micheal Ojeni for defiling two siblings.
