The Police in Bugiri District have arrested two casual workers for the alleged murder of a charcoal dealer in Zirobwe town council.

The suspects are David Busule aged 33 years and Hamza Mayende who were workers at a farm located at Namakoofu village in Zirobwe sub-county, Luwero district.

They are accused of killing Yudah Kyaga-yadde aged 47 years a resident of Wabi-tungulu village and charcoal dealer in Zirobwe town council in Luwero district on Wednesday.

Recently Kyagayadde hired two workers from Bugiri district to cut trees and burn charcoal at the farm which he had hired from Zirobwe sub-county councilor Kenneth Kamutsya.

It is alleged that on Wednesday at around 11: 30am, Kyagayadde went to the farm to deliver maize flour and equipment to the workers but instead killed him.

After the murder, the two fled the area and returned to Bugiri.

Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson says that the two allegedly stabbed Kyaga-yadde to death demanding him unpaid wages before they fled.

Twiineamazima adds that currently the suspects are being detained at Budaya Police Post in Bugiri district as preparations are made to transfer them to Luwero Central Police Station to face charges of murder.
