Police have dismissed reports that the Interpol branch of South Africa wrote to Uganda to have the body of late City Tycoon Ivan Semwanga’s exhumed.

The Police Spokesperson Asan Kasingye says there is no such request from South Africa but in any case it would have come from Interpol headquarters in Lyon France but not from Pretoria

This follows certain sections of media carried reports that Interpol Pretoria had written to their counterparts in Kampala to have the late Rich Gang boss’ body exhumed over issues related to faking death.

However, Kasingye admits that if there was such letter, its Interpol headquarters in Lyon France that would have written to them not that of in Pretoria.

Meanwhile, Kasingye declared that the directorate of Interpol is in the final stages of establishing Border Monitoring Units to support the already existing strategy in the fight against cross boarder crimes such as human and drug trafficking.
