Government has warned non-compliant communities who deliberately refuse their children to get vaccinated that they will be charged for endangering humanity.

The warning comes at a time when the government through the ministry of health is planning to roll out a national vaccination campaign targeting about 356,414 children under five years old against polio diseases in the five divisions of Kampala.

The Program Manager of the National Expanded Program on Immunization (UNEPI) Dr. Alfred Driwale says the door-to-door vaccination exercise will take three days, from the 17th of this Month to the 21st across the five districts of Kampala.

He says, during the three days each team will be required to vaccinate an average of 175 children each day to enable them to vaccinate the targeted population of 356,414 children in the Kampala capital city Authority.

He says about 647 million shillings will be used to carry out the exercise.

During the last nationwide polio vaccination exercise the districts of Mubende, Kassanda, Wakiso, Mukono and Kampala Capital City missed out because of the Ebola outbreak.
