The Uganda Police Force has summoned Nathan Okori, the father to the late former Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah over offensive communication.

Mzee Okori on Friday April 08th 2022 during the burial of his son reiterated that Oulanyah was poisoned which affected his health and that by the time the deceased was flown out of the country for treatment in February 2022 it was too late to save the former Omoro County MP’s life.

Addressing the Monday press conference at Naguru, Fred Enanga the Police Spokesperson says that other people summoned include the Minister for ICT and National Guidance Dr Chris Baryomunsi and the former State Minister for Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi.

Others according to Enanga are the National Unity Platform –NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, Acholi King Rwot Acana, the Kilak South Member of Parliament Gilbert Olanya and Aruu North County MP in Pader District Santa Okot, Bosmech Otim, a musician in Northern Uganda, Omoro district local leaders and several bloggers.

Enanga says that no medical report from all the hospitals from where Oulanyah was treated indicates poisoning which these people allege.

However, Enanga emphasizes that they are to issue a notice summoning these people to CID headquarters over the allegations.

The medical report from the University of Washington in Seattle, US reveals that Oulanyah succumbed to multiple organ failure caused by lymphoma cancer.
