The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Maj. Gen Kahinda Otafiire has advised the opposition Democratic Party (DP) to abandon their plans of competing for presidency, given their weak historical governance.

This comes at a time when the Democratic Party DP and its alliance parties under the DP Bloc is galvanizing opposition support for a single candidate, to face off with the ruling National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) 35years’ regime in the 2021 presidential race.

Otafiire now says that DP’s failure to ably manage Kampala city whose mandate has for some good time been in their hands, is evident enough to see DP Off the list of organizations competent to offer an alternative presidential material.

He was launching the International Center for Arbitration and Mediation in Kampala.

However the DP Secretary General Gerald Siranda has commented on the accusations.
