Masaka Municipality Member of Parliament Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba has challenged Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) for failure to engage the business community and traders in the rural areas over tax policies and regulations.

This while delivering his massage to a team of URA officials that had camped at Masaka town on Friday, Mpuuga said it is important for the tax body to engage different stakeholders to orient them on taxes, its contribution and related policies.

He says the unanswered questions and sufferings, experienced by the traders especially importers when URA and Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) start to interpret different laws after a trader has incurred expenses.

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) led by the Commissioner General Dr Doris Akolo are in Masaka for their annual interface week with tax payers where they have also donated items to OKOA Home Infants Center that caters for abandoned children around the age of two weeks.
