Child welfare and adoption society partners an organisation started by the Archdiocese of Kampala to cater for the abandoned children has partnered with others institutions for a charity walk to raise funds to support Nsambya babies home.

Among other partners include; Ministry of Gender Labor and social Development, Centenary Bank which has committed Shs 3 million, Pax Insurance Company Limited Shs 1 million, Statewide Insurance Company, Kampala Capital City Authority and the Uganda Police Force.

In a press statement read by the vicar General of Kampala Msgr Charles Kasibante who was the chief guest at the launch of the charity walk which is slated for 30th September 2023 at Nsambya babies home, noted that the Covid-19 lockdown greatly affected their operations and the walk is intended to raise funds to cater for the child basic needs and tracing their families among others.

Sister Teddy Nakyanzi the administrator of Nsambya babies Home says that on average the home receives around 40 new babies every month yet the facility is designed for 30 babies and this poses a challenge in terms of caring for them.

Beatrice Lugalambi the general manager corporate communications and marketing at centenary bank, noted that their contribution is part of the corporate social responsibility for the vulnerable groups.

Julius Katimbo the head of catholic affiliated Institutions at PAX insurance and David Mugabi the corporate affairs manager Statewide Insurance Company both committed support for the neglected generation.

Assistant Supretendant of Police (ASP) Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy spokes person of Kampala metropolitan area revealed that two thousand cases of abandoned babies were registered across the country in 2022 where 200 of these cases were in Kampala and if Nsambya Babies home offered to support these services they must be credited and supported in all ways possible.
