The National Resistance Movement (NRM) elected Members of Parliament have been summoned for orientation at the National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi before swearing in.

This has been revealed by the Government Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa while interacting with the parliamentary journalists at the offices of the Prime Minister (OPM).

Saying this, Nankabirwa was responding to some of the questions from journalists rotating on how NRM will settle the ongoing tension about the speakership race between the current Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and her Deputy Jacob Oulanya.

Nankabirwa said the excitement by all camps and individuals interested in the speakership for the 11th parliament mainly from the NRM, a decision will be taken by authorities in the party for harmony and continuity of the party.

She added that those to contest will have to appear before NRM CEC and also the NRM retreat in Kyankwanzi for members to buy their candidatures.

The retreat is being organized by the party Secretary General Justine Lumumba and the date is yet to be chosen.
