The NRM Electoral Commission has released the program for the party primaries for the position of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 11th Parliament.
Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM-E.C Chairperson says that the program starts tomorrow May 19th with the expression of interest by the aspiring candidates at the commission’s headquarters plot 13 Kyadondo Road.
Names of candidates who would have expressed interest will be considered or vetted by the Central Executive Committee (CEC) on May 22nd and later those considered will be presented before the NRM Parliamentary Caucus on Sunday May 23rd according to Dr. Tanga.
He emphasizes that the polling exercise will be participated in by only the NRM MPs on Sunday at plot 13 Kyadondi Road from 10am -2pm and aspiring candidates shall be given reasonable time for campaigns before voting commences.
