The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Village Chairpersons in charge of registering party members in all villages across the country have expressed their dissatisfaction with the little facilitation extended to them which they say is bound to fail this exercise.

The registration process kicked off on Wednesday and will run until Sunday March 17th 2024 and each village NRM Chairperson and registrar is to be paid a stipend of 10,000Shs per day.

Speaking to Radio Sapientia, Rehema Nalukwago, the NRM Chairperson of Katende Zone, Bukoto I parish in Nakawa Division, said that the process is moving on well but the people doing the work are not happy with the facilitation allocated to them compared the work they have to do from 8am to 5pm in the evening.

Nalukwago has also revealed some of the challenges they have faced which include among others people who are turning up for the registration but do not have National IDs plus the issue of the young people who have clocked 16 and 17 years who want to be registered yet they also do not have the National IDs.

Meanwhile, John Mpirirwe, the NRM Chairperson City House Village, Nakasero 4 Parish in Kampala Central Division says the process is moving on well although people are coming in slowly for the exercise.
