The Bishop of Nebbi Catholic diocese Rt. Rev Raphael P’Mony Wokorach has received over eighteen million shillings from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) in support for this year’s June 3rd Uganda Martyrs day celebrations at the Catholic Shrine at Namugongo.

The money was handed over by Herbert Rusoke who represented the Commissioner General John Musinguzi at the URA headquarters Nakawa where the Bishop led a Eucharistic celebration this afternoon.

In his homily, the Bishop thanked the URA team for hosting him and for the financial contribution to support the diocese lead a colorful celebration.

The Bishop who was assisted by the chaplain of the Catholic community of URA who also is the parish priest of Ggaba, Fr. Denis Kizito Ssebunnya, appreciated them for the commendable work they are doing as the tax collectors and asked them to keep the integrity as they do their work and also be fair to the taxpayers.

He appealed to all people of God to get ready to make pilgrimage at Namugongo with the spirit of prayer and worship.

The theme for this year’s martyrs day celebrations is; Me and My Family will Serve the Lord

Fr. Denis Kizito Ssebunnya encouraged URA staff to avoid temptations as they do their work.
