Police at Jinja Road are holding two people who were arrested from Luzira Murchison Bay where they had gone to visit their colleagues while posing as police officers from the Counter Terrorism Unit.
The two suspects are Don Williams Mugerwa, a driver of Nkumba University and Twaha Wamala, a resident of Bayita Ababiri.
Claire Nabakka, the Deputy Police Spokesperson noted that the two were arrested after Prisons officers became suspicious of their conduct and asked for their identities.
Nabakka says during the arrest, Mugerwa was wearing a full uniform of Counter Terrorism Officer with his name tag but without any rank yet he was carrying a warrant card indicating that he was at the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.
She says that the duo will be taken to court on charges of impersonation.
