The State Minister for Lands Persis Namuganza has broken into tears before the Parliamentary Rules and Disciplinary Committee as she explained her misunderstandings with the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga.

Their feud has intensified in the past week after the two exchanged threatening words that rose public concern leading to the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya to direct for an inquiry into the matter.

Namuganza who appeared before the Committee Chaired by Kalaki County Representative, Clement Obote Ongola today to give her side of the story informed members that their wrangles emanate from the actions of Kadaga when she connived with a section of the chiefs and amended the Busoga Kingdom Constitution, that allowed each of the 10 chiefs to have a chance of becoming a Kyabazinga.

Kyabazinga was meant to leave the thrown after death but the amendments provide him a service of five years according to Bukono County Member of Parliament in Namutumba district, Princess Namuganza.

She adds that Kadaga’s interference led to the installation of illegitimate cultural leaders of Busiku Chiefdom which is against their norms.

Namuganza also accuses Kadaga of dividing her family to the extent that she can longer eat or drink anything from the royal family.

She appealed to the committee to restrain Kadaga from making provocative statements in public and also summon her to explain her side and why she violated President Museveni’s advice over the Busoga matters.
