Two motorcyclists in Nakasongola district have been found dead.

One of the motorcyclists has been identified as Emmanuel Bogere, a Boda boda rider at Nakasongola Barracks Stage in Nakasongola town council.

His lifeless body has been discovered from Namayonjo zone in Nakasongola town this morning following two days of searching.

Richard Migadde, a Boda boda rider, says that Bogere was last seen around 3 pm on Monday, on launching a hunt for his whereabouts they got information at around 9; 00 am today that his lifeless was lying in the bushes in Namayonjo village with deep wounds in the neck, which implies that he was cut by a knife and his motorcycle registration number UFE 612C was robbed.

Another unidentified motorcyclist was also found dead around 2:30 pm on Tuesday in the forest at Katuugo town council. David Ssemayobe, the LC 1 Chairman of Katuugo village, says that a group of herdsmen grazing cattle found the body.

Isah Ssemwogerere, the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson, says that police are yet to identify the second victim because they didn’t find any identification document on his body.

Ssemwogerere says that the deceased is believed to have been stabbed in the neck before he was killed and his motorcycle robbed. At least 23 robbery cases and 31 homicide cases were reported in Nakasongola in 2020, according to the Police Annual Crime Report.
