President Yoweri Museveni has refuted allegations accusing him of dumping the Luweero Triangle region by failing to develop the infrastructure in the area.

In his National Heroes Day message delivered by the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, Museveni has revealed that it’s not right for people to say that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government neglected the Luweero Triangle in regards to infrastructural development.

Museveni has been represented by Nabbanja at the Heroes Day national celebration held at Kasaala playground in Butuntumula Sub-County, Luweero district under the theme; “Arise Uganda: Our Heroes’ Sacrifices Now Bear Fruits”,

He outlined some of the roads which have been tarmacked and reconstructed in the area which include; the Mubende-Mityana-Busunju-Kiboga-Hoima Road, Matugga-Ssemuto-Kapeeka Road, Kampala road that goes through the heart of Luweero Triangle and Luweero-Butalanga road which has been launched on Friday by the Prime Minister.

The President has promised to tarmac all un-tarmacked roads which include; Nakasongola, Ziroobwe, Kikusa, Myazi, Kapeeka among others.

Meanwhile, the President has attributed the high rate of children dropping out from schools in the area to money seekers in Government schools and asked Members of Parliament to be on ground in their respective constituencies and fight against this problem.

At the celebration, 51 people have been awarded with medals who included; the late State Minister for Labour, Col. Charles Engola whose medal was received by his wife Joyce Engola.
