Workers Members of Parliament are unhappy with the selective salary increment by government to civil servants.

In the coming financial year all science teachers are to be increased salaries leaving out arts teachers which the MPs say is discriminatory.

One of the Workers MP Margret Namubiru says this action will spark off strikes, decline in education and also demoralizing to teachers and students.

Agnes Kunihira another Workers MP notes that considering such increment, it just shows that government has no will to fight corruption because the underpaid civil servants will resort to corruption for survival.

She explains that with this little pay by government to its workers it also makes it difficult for workers unions to agitate for better pay to Ugandans working in the investors companies.

Kunihira appeals to government to pass the minimum wage bill.
