The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) faction under the leadership of Kira Municipality Member of Parliament Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has vowed to defy plans of joining the party with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Although the party secretary General Nandala Mafaabi sent a letter disowning the presence of National Consultative meeting at sharing Hall Nsambya, some party members headed by Ssemujju defied and went on to hold the meeting claiming that they want to restore the lost glory of FDC and re-directing it to its core mission.

At least 120 delegates out of a total of 140 members who sit on the NEC graced the meeting among them were the Lord Mayor of Kampala Erias Lukwago, Harold Kaija the FDC Deputy Secretary General, Francis Mwijukye MP Buhwejju county, District Chairpersons, LC II and I chairpersons among others.

In his address, Ssemujju revealed that plans to join NRM and FDC are almost in their final stages but the faction will not allow it when they are still serving as leaders of FDC.

Ssemujju adds that the Democratic Party (DP) and Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) joining NRM started as a joke but eventually became true and surprisingly they no longer take independent decisions.

He has disclosed that FDC has failed to organize party elections with no clear explanation from the leaders yet there is information that the party has been receiving a lot of money from unknown channels including brand new cars from copper Motors that came in towards the 2021 general elections which Ssemujju terms as satanic and must be stopped.

Meanwhile, Ssemujju has rallied party members to get out of their comfort zone and fight for the party mainly through the existence of new error of ICT, and that he is ready to start traversing the whole country mobilizing party members.
