The State Minister for Higher Education Dr John Chrysostom Muyingo has asked the youth to embrace the government’s Technical and Vocational Education Training- TVET program.

He argues that after gaining skills in vocational training they will realize they will realize the answer to unemployment because they will capable of starting up their own jobs.

Muyingo has made the remarks at Bukalasa Agricultural College in Wobulenzi town council, Luweero district during a tour to check the progress of the ongoing construction of more blocks at the government institution.

In May this year, Dr Jane Egau Okou, the Director of Higher, Technical, Vocational Education and Training launched the construction of an additional six lecture rooms worth Shilling 1.3 billion.

The Ministry of Education and Sports through the Uganda Skills Development Project with a grant from the World Bank has since injected over Shillings 18 billion in infrastructural development at Bukalasa Agricultural College.

The college currently has an enrolment of 2,200 students and only 10 of them come from Luweero where the institute is situated, majority of them come from the Northern and Eastern regions of Uganda.

Now basing on these statistics, Muyingo has also asked the people of Luweero to own this institution by enrolling in big numbers.
