Health workers have been advised to strive for nurturing the spirit of service in their call to protect life of Ugandans.

 

This has been said by the Parish Priest of Kyengera Parish Msgr. Lawrence Kanyike while presiding over a Eucharistic mass for celebrating the 5th graduation of Kampala Institute of Science and Technology- KIST Kyengera in Wakiso district.

 

A total of 100 students have been conferred with diplomas and certificates in pharmacy, medical Laboratory and clinical medicine among others.

 

Msgr. Kanyike noted that some health workers consider earning even before offering treatment to the patients yet they are supposed to save lives first.

 

Dr Josephine Mukwaya the principal of the Institute warned graduates and practicing healthy officers against being involved in murder by aiding abortions.

 

Meanwhile the Registrar of the Allied Health Professionals Council -AHPC in the Ministry of Health Dr Patrick Mpiima Kibirango tipped the graduates on discipline, hard work and further studies to improve Uganda’s health sector.
