The Minister of Internal Affairs, Gen Kahinda Otafiire has refuted claims that the government is categorizing Muslims especially the Tabliq Community as terrorists.
While speaking before the Muslims who had gathered at Nakivubo Blue playground for Eid-Al-Adha this morning, Minister Otafiire said that they have never arrested suspects based on their religion and there is no Muslim in prison without my connection to criminality.
He further clarified that the Tabliq Muslim community Leader, Amir Umah Sheikh Yunusu Kamoga had never escaped from the country after the recent security raid at his home in Tula, Kawempe Division as it was alleged instead they were together by then.
The Leader of the Tabliq Muslim Community, Amir Umah Sheikh Yunus Kamoga insists that the security raid was illegal and meant to violate the rights of Muslims.
The Makindye Division Mayor, Haji Ali Kasirye Mulyannyama urged the government to either release or charge all Muslims detained in several prisons.
