Ministry of Education has canceled the meeting that was slated tomorrow with the minister of education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni.

Earlier on The Ministry of Education and Sports had clarified that the meeting between the Minister Janet Museveni and the Members of Parliament was on as planned but not based on parliamentary sessions.

Mrs. Museveni, had agreed to meeting with the MPs at Kololo Independence Grounds on November 24, 2021 following their summons for her to appear before them to answer questions on education in the country.

However most MPs didn’t appreciate the idea of going to Kololo insisting that being a minister like others she is supposed to meet the MPs on the floor of parliament because education is a national issue that schools are just planning to re-open after a long period of recess due to existence of covid-19.

Addressing the media in Kampala today, Dr. Denis Mugimba, the Ministry of Education and Sports Spokesperson said the meeting was crucial since it will discuss issues related to the education sector but all the MPs who were to attend were supposed to be tested for Covid-19.

At the last minute Mugimba has been the same person to announce the cancelation of the meeting until further notice.
