The State Minister for Housing Persis Namuganza has been faulted for illegally participating in the Nakawa-Naguru land saga.

Namuganza who had appeared before the Parliament’s Ad-hoc Committee chaired by Dan Kimosho has been accused of recommending and forwarding certain beneficiaries of the land without following proper procedures of acquiring Government land.

The committee is currently investigating the wrangles involved in the sharing of the 83 acre Naguru-Nakawa land where certain companies and individuals are said to have acquired it illegally.

The committee also accused Namuganza of authorizing the give-away of the land to certain companies that weren’t either fit or recommended by the President thus overtaking the mandate of the Uganda Lands Commission.

Namuganza who also seemed uncooperative with the committee members by not speaking to evidential documents, saying she was operating on the President’s directive and also confirmed to have recommended certain companies to acquire part of the land.
