The Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng has directed the district leaders to return the Covid-19 donated vehicles with immediate effect for their core use of surveillance.

This was while meeting the District Taskforce in Kasanda district this morning where she is accompanied by the State Minister for Health in charge of General Duties Anifa Kawooya on her tour to the districts with confirmed Ebola Virus Disease cases.

Minister Aceng says that these vehicles including the GAVI pickups are not for attending conferences and workshops as it is done by the District Health leaders but only meant for supporting the health surveillance and immunization.

She however noted that four districts including Kasanda, Kyegegwa, Mubende and Kagadi are the only ones with confirmed cases of Ebola.

Aceng calls upon the public to stay on alert and avoid running away from the epicenter to another district but to trust the area hospitals once they identify the signs and symptoms of Ebola.

The latest figures as of 29th September, 2022 the cumulative confirmed cases of Ebola stand at 35 following 4 new confirmed cases reported in Mubende and Kagadi in the last 24 hours. Of the 4 new cases 3 are in Mubende, 1 in Kagadi.

While the total confirmed deaths stand at 7 following one new death reported in Kagadi.
